Georgians Oppose Racial Gerrymandering

Background

The U.S. Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act, and now Georgia Republicans are racing to do Trump's bidding. On June 17th, Governor Kemp and Republican legislators will begin redrawing our voting maps. Their goal is to undermine our representative democracy. This legislative action is not required, it is a choice, a blatant power grab, and an attempt to reduce Black voting power.

Sample Script to Offer Your Readers:

Hi, my name is [NAME] and I am a Georgia voter.

I'm calling to express my strong opposition to redistricting. I've always been proud that Georgia was considered the cradle of the Civil Rights Movement. This unnecessary mid-decade rush to eliminate Black lawmakers is shameful and embarrassing. The Callais ruling does not require this and don't insult our intelligence by telling us it does. The majority of GA voters want fair maps. Voters are watching and you will be held accountable in November.
